Project Managers

Beginning in 2014 as an initiative to help teach Newfoundland and Labrador’s youth about the importance of environmental sustainability, Planting Potential has since expanded to become a multi-faceted agricultural educational initiative incorporating lessons about financial literacy and entrepreneurship to our province’s next generation! Our project has students participate in a three-week curriculum which begins with highlighting the history and impact agriculture has had in Newfoundland and Labrador, and over the next two weeks, our province’s youth gets an opportunity to “get their hands dirty” by running their own mini-agriculture operation! From financial planning to marketing, operating costs to price points, the next generation of Newfoundland and Labrador entrepreneurs receives an interactive opportunity to build their own business, and to tackle the ever-present issue of food security through their own initiative!

To date, Planting Potential has helped educate and empower over 500 children in our province, and through working with key community stakeholders such as the Newfoundland and Labrador Federation of Agriculture, this initiative is committed to help our province’s youth, economy, and entrepreneurial spirit grow!
